LuciePassionate Furniture Painter and Author
I’m passionate about repurposing and upcycling. I can say I was born with a paintbrush in my hand. As far as I can remember, I have always loved painting.
I helped my parents paint the house’s shutters when I was a kid. I also painted my old radio player and the family fridge. I painted iron gates when I was a teenager to earn pocket money. A few years later, I painted my student apartment walls because they were yellow and dirty. I also painted my rental furniture because I did not like the beige bedroom set provided by the landlord and was dreaming of black furniture.
At the same time, I have always enjoyed thrifting and second-hand shopping. I’m passionate about decorating with thrifted and second-hand items. I believe that the best way to make a home unique is to add old pieces that tell a story.
I love saving old, worn-out furniture that is destined for the landfill, repurposing old furniture and thrift store finds. When it comes to furniture and decoration items, I like second-hand shopping. I’m kind of addicted to thrift stores, yard sales, and the Facebook marketplace. I love transforming a tired and outdated piece of furniture into a treasure.
Even after years of painting furniture, I’m always amazed at how paint can drastically change the look of furniture. Not all furniture can be saved, however. When something is beyond repair, I like to find ways to upcycle it. I’ll break down the piece and use the parts in other projects or create something totally new out of them.
My blog life started back in 2020. Thanks to the Covid-19 Pandemic and Lockdown, I was able to enjoy more free time so I painted some old furniture I had on hand and decided to share my experience. That’s how I ended up taking over Christina’s blog (formerly christinafayerepurposed.com) in 2020 with the aim of continuing the good work she has done so far.
I’m also the happy mum of three young girls. The oldest one who just turned 6 likes to grab a paint-brush and join me in the workshop.
ChristinaInspired Furniture Flipper
Christina created this blog (formerly christinafayerepurposed.com) to promote her furniture-flipping business and share her DIY projects with the world. Her passion is saving old, worn-out furniture that is destined for the landfill. Not only does she save and repurpose furniture, but she also loves to visit thrift stores and save other items. Each item she find is upcycled or repurposed and made into a functional and unique, that you will never find in stores.
Due to an arm injury, Christina decided to quit her furniture flipping business but her creative mind is still there. We love her projects and the stories behind each piece of furniture she redid. One of Christina’s defining features is her passion for colors and design. She sees each piece of furniture as a blank canvas, ready to be transformed into a unique and vibrant creation. And remember, her motto is:
“It’s not about what it is, it’s about what it will be.”
Christelle is a young and enthusiastic amateur furniture painter with a passion for transforming old and discarded pieces into beautiful works of art. We are so happy she agreed to show some of her projects on Oh My Sander, sharing before-and-after photos, along with insights into her creative process.
Amelie is a driven and creative entrepreneur who used to run a small furniture-flipping business. She has a keen eye for design and a passion for giving old pieces a new lease on life. Amelie enjoys playing with different color palettes and design techniques to bring out the personality of each piece. What sets Amelie apart is her meticulous attention to detail. Whether it’s refurbishing an old coffee table or giving a worn-out dresser a modern twist, she pays close attention to every brushstroke. Amelie believes that the smallest details can make the biggest difference in the overall aesthetic of a piece. We are so glad she agreed to share her creative journey with us here at Oh My Sander.
